Mr. Brian Petrie, Superintendent
Mr. Brian Petrie became Superintendent of the Cardington-Lincoln Local School in August of 2010 after serving as Intermediate School Principal from 2007-2010 and teaching both French and Linguistics in the District from 2002-2007. His previous experience includes work in Loudonville Exempted Village Schools and Akron Public Schools.
Mr. Petrie provides leadership for the development, implementation, and assessment of the District’s mission, vision, and strategic initiatives. He is in charge of the day-to-day operations of the district including the effective and efficient use of district resources. He also serves as the compliance officer for the District’s Federal Programs, Anti-Harassment, and Homeless Student Education Initiatives.
In addition to his duties as Cardington-Lincoln Schools Superintendent, Mr. Petrie serves as the Chair of the Morrow County Family Children First Council and is a member of the Buckeye Association of School Administrator’s Legislative Committee.
Mr. Petrie earned a Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics and a Bachelor’s Degree in French from Ohio University in Athens. He continued post-graduate work in Educational Administration at The Ohio State University where he focused his research on Early Childhood Education opportunities for the children of Morrow County.
Mr. Jon Mason, Treasurer
Mr. Jon Mason joined the Cardington-Lincoln Local School District family as Treasurer/CFO in August 2015. Jon is a member of the Ohio Association of School Business Officials and also serves as the Treasurer for the Highland Local School District.
Mr. Mason provides Financial/Technical/Logistical Support for the fiscal office of the Cardington-Lincoln Local Schools. He also provides support and training for school administrators in support of the Federal program application process and program administration. He works diligently to ensure the Board of Education satisfaction through the communication of financial information during monthly reporting. Mr. Mason works to build positive relationships with school district personnel and contacts at the State level and provides Financial Management to the district by identifying and implementing sound financial practices and to support the goal of building fiscally sound educational organizations.
Mr. Mason earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics and Accounting from The Ohio State University. He has extensive experience in the private sector, serving as Vice President of Finance for Fishburn Services Inc and Loan Office and Branch Manager for Ag Credit ACA. Mr. Mason is a General Partner in the family dairy operation, Mason Farms Ltd.
